On the 23rd, Chen Guoji, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, presided over a cross departmental working group meeting on festival arrangements, comprehensively coordinating and supervising the preparatory work of various departments of the SAR government for receiving visitors to Hong Kong during the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holidays in mainland China. The Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government predicts that approximately 1.29 million mainland tourists will enter Hong Kong through various sea, land, and air traffic control stations during this year's National Day Golden Week. The average daily number of visitors to Hong Kong has increased by more than 5% compared to last year's National Day Golden Week.
According to the Hong Kong Tourism Authority and industry estimates, it is expected that 1180 mainland tour groups will enter Hong Kong during the National Day and Mid Autumn Festival holidays.
Chen Guoji stated that the SAR government will prepare for the reception of visitors to Hong Kong, maintain close contact with relevant organizations and the tourism industry, manage pedestrian flow, release information, arrange public transportation and various ports, quickly respond to various emergencies, ensure the smooth operation of environmental protection measures for the reception of visitors, and provide high-quality experiences for visitors to Hong Kong.  
In terms of ecological tourism, the SAR government will strengthen management through cross departmental collaboration. The SAR government's Fisheries and Conservation Department will continue to pilot online real name reservation on the Po Bian Chau section of the Sai Kung Wan Yi Reservoir East Dam, as well as implement crowd control measures on the Po Bian Chau section and observation deck.
It is reported that the cross departmental joint command center, established by multiple departments, will be launched from October 1st to October 7th to monitor the on-site situation at the port in real time and maintain close contact with mainland port departments.
