Unlike R-187, which focuses on long-range anti-interference and communication, the American AN/PRC-154 "Infantry Gunner" individual radio station not only retains basic communication capabilities, but also highlights the team level communication capabilities of lightweight, full staff, and self-organizing networks.
This radio station was jointly developed by Thales and General Dynamics, specifically designed for ordinary infantry and does not require professional signal soldiers to operate. Compared with the radio stations previously installed by the US military, this radio station has a smaller size, lower power consumption, and more advantageous cost.
This radio station operates in the ultra-high frequency band and supports decentralized self-organizing networks. Soldiers in the class can achieve one click interconnection and automatically adjust communication routes. Multiple individual radio stations are extended through self-organizing networks, with a theoretical communication range of up to 50 kilometers. Even if some nodes are damaged, the network can still remain unobstructed.
