The national railway is expected to send 284 million passengers, with a daily planned operation of about 13000 passenger trains. The peak of railway passenger flow will be reached on October 1st.
According to the person in charge of the Passenger Transport Department of China Railway Group, this year's Mid Autumn Festival and National Day holidays are adjacent, and there is a strong demand for tourism, family visits, leisure and other travel. The short distance passenger flow during Mid Autumn Festival is intertwined with the long-distance passenger flow during National Day, and the railway passenger flow will maintain a high level of operation. The passenger flow in some sections and time periods is highly concentrated.
To cope with the peak of holiday passenger flow, the railway department actively adapts to the diversified travel needs of passengers during holidays, carefully formulates holiday transportation plans, increases transportation capacity, and implements convenient and beneficial service measures. The national railway will implement peak operation schedules, making good use of the resources of the Wuhan Xi'an high-speed railway from Xi'an East to Shiyan East, the Jinhua Jiande high-speed railway from Lanxi East to Jiande, the Hangzhou Shaoxing Taizhou high-speed railway from Wenling to Yuhuan, and the upcoming new lines and stations, effectively enhancing the regional passenger transportation capacity. During peak hours, measures such as adding passenger trains, multiple unit trains, and adding carriages to regular speed passenger trains are taken to timely and accurately allocate transportation capacity to popular areas, routes, and time periods.
