The final evaluation of the 15th China Dance Lotus Awards Classical Dance Awards was held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province from September 19th to 20th. The shortlisted works competed in two performances, showcasing the latest achievements in Chinese classical dance art creation.
It is reported that this award is jointly organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government, the China Dancers Association, and the Shaanxi Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles. A total of 197 classical dance works were submitted from across the country. After initial evaluation, 32 works were shortlisted for final evaluation.
Works such as' Snowy Branches, Song Rising 'and' Deep Clouds' use natural imagery and regional culture to unfold poetic narratives through dance vocabulary; Works such as "Cangshan Hai" and "Shenyi Xing" draw inspiration from cultural relics and treasures, activating traditional culture with contemporary aesthetics; Works such as "Yue Nv Ci" and "A Paper of Love and Fragrant Flowers" use historical figures and folk emotions as entry points, conveying spiritual power through the integration of scenery, objects, people, and emotions... The shortlisted works draw inspiration from excellent traditional Chinese cultural resources such as ancient artifacts, local intangible cultural heritage, and classical poetry, based on the classical dance body rhyme system and integrating contemporary stage art creation concepts, opening up a broad space for classical dance art creation.
During the award period, the 15th China Dance Lotus Award Classical Dance Creation Seminar was also held. Experts from universities and institutions such as Beijing Dance Academy and China Academy of Art conducted in-depth exchanges on the value foundation, creative status, and path of upholding tradition and innovation of Chinese classical dance.
Experts attending the meeting believe that with the increasing richness of classical dance works, traditional culture is no longer just a visual symbol, but is becoming an inspiration source for activating body language. With the continuous promotion of regional classical dance construction, it is expected to form a regional training system and diverse aesthetic standards in the future. Experts say they look forward to using the Lotus Award as an opportunity to drive the construction of a classic repertoire library, enhance professional teaching capabilities, and inherit excellent traditional culture, injecting new vitality into the creation of Chinese classical dance.
