The 29th Beijing Taiwan Science and Technology Forum, with the theme of "Technology Leading Industry Integration, Digital Intelligence Empowering a Healthy Future", opened in Beijing on the 19th, attracting more than 700 people from Taiwan's business and technology circles, leaders of Taiwan's public associations, and representatives of Taiwanese businessmen.
Peng Qingen, Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, stated that as a major contributor to global economic growth and an important source of innovation in the science and technology industry, the mainland of China remains the best choice for Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises to start businesses and develop. We hope that our compatriots in Taiwan will work together and unite with us, adhere to the One China principle and the "1992 Consensus", resolutely oppose "Taiwan independence" separatism and foreign interference, and actively participate in cross-strait exchanges and cooperation.
Yin Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China Beijing Municipal Committee and Mayor, introduced that there are currently over 4200 Taiwan funded enterprises registered in Beijing, with a total investment of over 65 billion yuan. Beijing will further deepen technological cooperation, promote youth exchanges, optimize service guarantees, and create better conditions for the development of Taiwanese enterprises and compatriots.
Li Zhenghong, President of the National Taiwan Compatriots Investment Enterprise Association, encouraged Taiwanese funded enterprises to fully leverage their technological advantages, management experience, and brand influence in the fields of semiconductors, bioelectronics, financial services, software research and development, deeply connect with Beijing's scientific and technological innovation resources and application scenarios, and deepen collaborative innovation between industry, academia, and research.
Guo Jinlong, the Chairman of the Mainland side of the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, expressed the hope that entrepreneurs from both sides of the Taiwan Strait can cultivate brotherhood, adhere to the principle of combining righteousness and benefit, deeply understand and grasp the spirit of the 15th Five Year Plan, actively integrate into the mainland's industrial and supply chains, and work together to build a common market across the Taiwan Strait.
The Chairman of the Taiwan side of the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit, Liu Zhaoxuan, said that cross-strait enterprises should seize the opportunities for future industrial development, strategically layout in key technologies and supply chain resilience, and jointly benefit the livelihoods of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Su Hui, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Central Committee of the Taiwan Solidarity Union, hopes that compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait will seize development opportunities, follow the trend of cooperation, ride the wave of innovation, achieve win-win results, and continuously strengthen the economy of the Chinese nation.
On the same day, a signing ceremony for cross-strait economic and technological cooperation enterprise projects was also held.
This forum is hosted by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council and the Beijing Municipal Government, supported by the Cross Strait Entrepreneurs Summit and the All China Federation of Taiwan Enterprises, and organized by the Beijing Taiwan Affairs Office and the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee.
