Integrating children's music and drama 'Dream Boat' to embark on a journey of searching for intangible cultural heritage dreams

The integrated children's music drama "Dream Boat" supported by the China Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation premiered on August 23 at the Haidian North Cultural Center Theater in Beijing. Children, including special needs children, lead the audience on a fantastic journey of searching for intangible cultural heritage in the drama.

Dream Boat tells the story of four fantastic adventures of young Ah Zhou when he returned to the town where his grandfather lived, and started with his partner Little Dream in his dream: guarding kites in the "Spring Wind Valley", listening to Beijing rhyme drums in the "Minglei River", participating in shadow play to worship the moon in the "Yupan Village", and melting snow in the "Red Wheel City" Paper Cuttings. After waking up from the dream, Azhou realized the craftsmanship of her grandfather's inheritance of traditional skills and also gained growth.

The producer of this drama, Lin Shu, said that the intangible cultural heritage in this drama is not a static display, but a vivid element that promotes the development of the story. Music and drama help children better understand the common emotions of humanity, and the participation of special children achieves the goal of integrating art education.
