As a future industry, quantum technology is in a critical window period from the laboratory to industrialization, with rapid development in technologies such as quantum communication, quantum computing, and quantum precision measurement. On August 17th, the reporter learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that during the fifth plenary session of the International Organization for Standardization Joint Technical Committee on Quantum Technology (IEC/ISO JTC3), China led multiple international standard proposals for quantum technology have made positive progress.
The international standard proposal for "Overview and Analysis of the Randomness Quality and Testing Methodology of Quantum Entropy Sources" led by China has been officially approved, marking an important step for China in the development of international standards for quantum core devices. The international standard proposal for "Investigation of Measurement Standards for Single Photon Device Characterization and Potential Recommended Measurement Practices" jointly led by China, the United States, and Canada has also been approved. This standard will sort out the priority of standard development in the field of single photon detectors and lead the subsequent international standardization work in this field. Two international standard pre research projects led by China, including "Quantum Classical Fusion Computing," have also been approved, which will help explore and improve the international standardization system in the field of quantum computing.
Deeply participating in the formulation of international standards will help break down technological barriers, accelerate the large-scale application of innovative achievements, and continue to contribute Chinese wisdom to the high-quality development of the world's quantum technology industry. At present, China has taken the lead in developing three international standards for quantum technology that have been released by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and five international standards are currently under development.（Outlook New Era）
