The Ministry of Civil Affairs, together with the Cyberspace Administration of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Public Security, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, recently held a mobilization teleconference on the special action plan to rectify the chaos in marriage agencies, and comprehensively deployed and launched the special rectification action.

Previously, on July 28th, the five departments jointly issued the "Special Action Plan for Rectifying the Chaos of Marriage Agencies". This special action focuses on seven key issues, including violations of registration services, false marketing, fraudulent "wedding arrangements", contract signing violations, chaotic fee management, formalism in key information review, and personal information leakage and abuse. It will last from July 2026 to February 2027.

In recent years, the marriage service market has developed rapidly and played a certain positive role in meeting the needs of the masses for marriage and love. However, various illegal and irregular issues have occurred frequently in the field of marriage agencies, with prominent problems such as "marriage appointment" fraud, false advertising, and difficulties in refunding and safeguarding rights. The public has strongly reflected on these issues and society is highly concerned about them.

The meeting requires that each region accurately conduct a bottom line and establish a problem ledger; Accurately classify and implement policies, and take specific measures according to local conditions; To accurately grasp the scale and distinguish different situations of marriage agencies, it is necessary to handle them prudently. We need to strengthen publicity and guidance, open up channels for complaints and reports, and create a deterrent by exposing typical cases in a concentrated manner.
