On the 28th, the Policy Research and Regional Development Bureau of the Macao Special Administrative Region Government released the Public Consultation Summary Report on the Third Five Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2026-2030). The report shows that overall, citizens generally support the content of the consultation text.
According to statistics, a total of 1716 and 8230 opinions were received for this consultation, of which 92.1% were positive. From the perspective of social concerns, the most collected opinions are: "Article 7: Effectively Ensuring and Optimizing People's Livelihood and Welfare", "Article 4: Solidly Promoting Moderate Diversified Economic Development", and "Article 5: High Quality Promotion of Hengqin Cooperation Zone Construction".
The Political Development Bureau stated that the SAR government attaches great importance to the opinions and suggestions of all sectors of society and the general public. On the basis of in-depth classification, research and analysis, feasible and socially consensus opinions and suggestions will be fully incorporated into the official text of the "Three Five" Plan to ensure that the planning blueprint is more in line with public opinion. The opinions and suggestions that have not been included in the plan will also serve as references for relevant governance work.
On May 19th, the SAR government released the consultation text of the "Third Five Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Macao Special Administrative Region (2026-2030)", and a 40 day public consultation will begin from May 20th.
From May 20th to June 28th, the SAR government held a total of 14 consultation sessions to extensively solicit opinions from representatives of public opinion, the general public, experts and scholars, various sectors of society, and professional organizations. In addition, Legislative Council members have held a total of 154 events to collect and form opinions; The main patriotic and Australian organizations actively mobilize members to discuss and research, and submit specialized opinions; The general public provides suggestions and recommendations through various channels. The active participation of all sectors of society and the general public has laid a solid public opinion foundation for the formulation of the "Three Five" plan.
