The reporter learned from the press conference of the 9th China International Import Expo held here on the 27th that the preparatory work for the 9th Expo is progressing smoothly, and 57 countries and 3 international organizations have confirmed their participation in the national exhibition. The contracted exhibition area of the enterprise commercial exhibition exceeds 340000 square meters, and 169 enterprises and 30 overseas exhibition organizations have become the "full attendance" of the 9th CIIE.
Wu Zhengping, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the China International Import Expo Bureau, introduced that 57 countries and 3 international organizations have confirmed their participation in the national exhibition of this year's CIIE. Moldova, Romania, and the United Nations Development Programme will participate for the first time. Among them, the China Pavilion will be themed "Creating a New Situation and Winning a New Future", comprehensively showcasing the new opportunities and visions for China's economic and social development during the 15th Five Year Plan period.
At the same time, more than 1200 companies from 99 countries and regions have signed up to participate in the enterprise commercial exhibition, an increase of over 100 compared to the same period last year; The contracted exhibition area exceeds 340000 square meters, an increase of nearly 10000 square meters compared to the same period last year. 265 Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders, an increase of 10 compared to the same period last year; 169 companies and 30 overseas exhibition organizations have become "full attendance students" for the 9th CIIE.
This year's CIIE will upgrade the Asia Africa Product Zone, actively helping participating companies and exhibits from African countries with diplomatic relations to seize the "zero tariff" opportunity, and encouraging more countries in the global South to make good use of the CIIE platform.
Zhu Min, Deputy Secretary General of the Shanghai Municipal Government and Director of the Office of the Leading Group for Urban Service Guarantee of the CIIE, said that based on the experience of previous preparations, Shanghai has analyzed new situations and demands, formulated the overall plan and task book for urban service guarantee of the 9th CIIE, clarified 257 key tasks, and currently, all work is progressing in an orderly manner.
This year, on the basis of consolidating the "combination package" of convenient exhibition services from previous years, we have optimized the fast access service for port visas. We have added the Shanghai Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone, where foreign personnel can apply for visas to enter and participate in exhibitions with the invitation letter of the China International Import Expo. Invited foreign exhibitors from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui and other places can now apply for port visas online throughout the process.
Since 2018, the China International Import Expo has been successfully held for eight consecutive years, with over 180 countries, regions, and international organizations participating.
