The reporter learned from China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation that at 20:00 on July 23, China successfully launched the Tianlian 2-06 satellite into orbit using the Long March 3B carrier rocket from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center. The satellite entered the predetermined orbit smoothly and the launch mission was a complete success.
The Tianlian-2 06 satellite was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, mainly used to provide data relay and measurement and control services for manned spacecraft such as spacecraft and space stations, data relay and measurement and control services for medium and low orbit resource satellites, and measurement and control support for spacecraft launches.
Tianlian-2 is China's second-generation geostationary orbit relay satellite. Relay satellites can fully leverage their orbital altitude advantages, track spacecraft, and transmit real-time data back to the ground, greatly improving the efficiency and emergency response capabilities of various spacecraft. Since the maiden flight of Tianlian-2 01 in 2019, 02 to 05 satellites have continued to orbit, and the usability of the satellites has been continuously upgraded. The successful launch of the 06 satellite has further expanded the coverage range of the second-generation relay satellite system and comprehensively strengthened its continuous support capability.
