The special conference on promoting the application of national standards for the "Artificial Intelligence Agent Interconnection" series was recently held at the Zhongguancun Exhibition Center in Beijing. On site release of seven guiding national standards GB/Z185-2026, which is the first interconnected standard system in China to cover the entire lifecycle of intelligent agents, and to build a unified global network of underlying rules for global AI collaboration.
It is reported that current AI agents are shifting from simply being able to converse to being good at execution. However, due to the lack of unified standards, intelligent agents from different manufacturers are often incompatible with each other, their identities are difficult to trace, cross domain collaboration is hindered, and a "smart island" is formed. The GB/Z185-2026 series of standards released this time fully standardize the overall architecture, intelligent agent identity code, identity management, capability description, cross domain discovery, collaborative interaction, and tool calling of seven core links, breaking through industry pain points such as long-term incompatibility between intelligent agents from different vendors, lack of trustworthy identity, and prominent barriers to cross domain collaboration, and breaking through the underlying rules of intelligent agent operation throughout the entire process.
Among the seven core components, the identity code of the intelligent agent is the core carrier for implementation. The first batch of issuance ceremony for intelligent agent identity codes was held on site, and more than 2000 key industry intelligent agent identity codes were issued. Each intelligent agent was given a unique and traceable "digital ID card", and a trusted and interconnected underlying trust system was built.
This system is currently the world's first systematic intelligent agent interconnection standard system. The English translation version has been made public at the International Standardization Forum of Artificial Intelligence at the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference. Subsequently, Russian, Arabic and other versions will be launched to promote global promotion in conjunction with ASEAN and other regions, contributing to the "Chinese solution" for global artificial intelligence governance.
