On July 22nd, the Gravity 1 Y3 carrier rocket was ignited and launched into the eastern waters of Shanghai, carrying 9 satellites into its designated orbit. The flight test mission was a complete success.
It is reported that this mission is the first deep-sea launch of the Gravity 1 rocket, and also the first time that China has carried out a private commercial rocket sea launch mission in the East China Sea of the Yangtze River Delta.
Mobile launch platforms on the sea are not strictly limited by fixed sea areas and can flexibly choose launch sites, which helps to improve launch efficiency and diversify China's space launch layout. The person in charge of the development of the rocket model introduced that the Gravity 1 Y3 carrier rocket was assembled and manufactured from the Dongfang Aerospace Port in Haiyang, Shandong. This mission further verified the adaptability of the Gravity 1 solid binding configuration to complex sea conditions and the long-term standby capability of the entire rocket.
Gravity 1 is a medium-sized carrier rocket independently developed by Dongfang Space (Shandong) Technology Co., Ltd. It has a low Earth orbit carrying capacity of 6.5 tons and a 500 kilometer sun synchronous orbit carrying capacity of 4.2 tons, which can meet the needs of various small satellite launch missions.
The Dongpo 13, 14, 17 to 20 satellites launched into orbit this time can carry out large-scale Earth observation around the clock. Xiguang-2 01 star and Tianyi 49 star can provide observation services for users in industries such as mining, agriculture and forestry, environmental monitoring, and urban planning. The Purple Lilac III satellite is conducting technology experiments such as an ultra flat force heat integrated platform and new attitude control.
