The “8th National Youth Art Exhibition (Heilongjiang Tour)” co-sponsored by the China Artists Association, the Chongqing Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, the Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Hebei Federation of Literary and Art Circles is currently taking place at the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts.

The National Youth Art Exhibition is a comprehensive national-level event. It has been reported that since its inception, the exhibition has always been rooted in the spirit of the times, identifying young talent, and passing on artistic traditions. It has thus become an important window through which to observe the development of Chinese youth art and witness the prosperity of the arts sector.

Since the launch of this exhibition’s call for submissions, over 10,000 works have been submitted. After two rounds of rigorous selection by the jury, a total of 482 works were ultimately selected for inclusion. Of these, 50 works were recommended for direct submission to the National Art Exhibition.

According to reports, the Hebei tour exhibition featured a total of 450 works, encompassing nine major art categories: Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, watercolor and pastel painting, lacquer painting, illustration, comic strips, and mixed media painting. The exhibition’s central theme was “passing on the torch of art, understanding the essence of the times, appreciating diverse beauty, and following the path of creation.” It closely followed the pulse of contemporary development, focusing on themes such as national construction, rural revitalization, and technological innovation. The exhibition was divided into four main sections: “New Beginnings of Brushwork (Chinese Painting),” “Vastness of Oil Painting (Oil Painting),” “Exploration of Diversity (Traditional Media and Mixed Media),” and “Narrative through Illustration and Comic Strips,” which collectively showcased the overall landscape and development dynamics of young artists’ work nationwide over the past three years.
