The launch event for Volume 5 of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China” was held on July 1 in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye.
The guests attending the event believed that Volume 5 of “Xi Jinping on Governance” is an authoritative work that comprehensively and systematically reflects the latest achievements of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. It vividly portrays the theory and practice of Chinese-style modernization in the new journey, and provides a profound explanation of China’s ideas and plans for promoting the building of a community of a shared future for mankind. On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the country, the exchange of experiences on governance and management with a focus on modernization between the two countries will help to enhance political trust, facilitate the alignment of development strategies, and jointly advance the path of modernization.
In his remarks, Jalele Adan, Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, stated that Volume 5 of “Xi Jinping Discusses Governance” provides more references for understanding China’s policy prospects and strategic considerations on global issues. Türkiye is willing to use this promotional event as an opportunity to further deepen parliamentary exchanges and practical cooperation between the two countries in various fields, strengthen the alignment of the “Belt and Road Initiative” and the “Middle Corridor”, and promote continuous achievements in economic and trade investment, cultural exchanges, and tourism cooperation.
Gökhan Yazıcı, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of Türkiye, stated that the launch of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping’s Governance of the Country” in Türkiye was extremely encouraging. This book systematically explains the Communist Party of China’s commitment to a development philosophy centered on the people, its efforts to achieve sustained economic and social development, and maintain social stability. This holds positive lessons for the international community, particularly Türkiye. Türkiye is willing to deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning with China, thereby injecting new momentum into bilateral friendship and cooperation.
Jilai Fidan, a well-known Turkish sinologist and recipient of the Youth Achievement Award for Outstanding Contributions to Chinese Literature, said that books serve as a bridge connecting different civilizations and play an important role in cultural exchanges. The series of works titled “Xi Jinping Talks about Governance” have been translated and published in various languages. This is a concrete manifestation of President Xi Jinping’s advocacy of “using cultural exchanges to overcome cultural barriers,” providing a new opportunity for the world to understand China.
During the event, China presented guests from Türkiye with copies of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping on Governance” in English and the second volume in Turkish. Experts, scholars, and young representatives from both countries engaged in in-depth discussions and dialogues on topics such as economic and trade cooperation, green transformation, mutual exchange of civilizations, and global governance.
The event was co-hosted by the Information Office of the State Council of China, the China Foreign Languages Publishing Group, and the Chinese Embassy in Türkiye.
