As education on establishing and practicing a correct view on political performance deepens and bears fruit, we welcome the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. At this moment, Party members across the military, each at their combat posts, share a common aspiration: to add luster to the Party flag with outstanding achievements, and to answer well the question "Why did I join the Party" through real deeds.

The Constitution of the Communist Party of China clearly states: "A member of the Communist Party of China is a vanguard fighter with communist consciousness belonging to the Chinese working class," and "A member of the Communist Party of China must wholeheartedly serve the people, sacrifice everything personal if necessary, and strive for life for the realization of communism." "What one is" concerns the Party's nature, purpose, and essential characteristics; "what to do" reveals the Party's mission, tasks, and goals. All this is written not only in the Party Constitution but must also be demonstrated in action and implemented through struggle.

Chairman Xi pointed out: "We must strengthen role awareness and political responsibility—speak for the Party, worry for the Party, and work for the Party while in it—and implement loving the Party, worrying for the Party, revitalizing the Party, and protecting the Party into every link of work and life." For military Party members, answering "why I joined the Party" means being loyal and honest to the Party, being of one heart and one mind with the Party, always obeying the Party's command and fulfilling duties for the Party, and exerting every effort to complete the responsibilities and tasks entrusted by the Party.

Answering "why I joined the Party" is the fundamental driving force that has inspired generations of Communists to advance wave upon wave in heroic struggle. From Fang Zhimin, who said "I can give up everything, but I cannot give up the Party, cannot give up the class, cannot give up the revolutionary cause"; to Ye Jianying, who "devoted his life only to planning for the people, caring neither for official rank nor for money"; to Gan Zuchang, who believed "one must do things for the country while alive"; and Zhang Lianyin, the "Afforestation General" who held that "seeking fame or profit means one is no Communist"—these outstanding Party members consistently upheld a correct view on political performance, carried forward a pragmatic style, and shouldered the responsibility of struggle, devoting themselves selflessly to the cause of the Party and the people all their lives. Today's Party members should consciously learn from them, stay true to the original aspiration and keep the mission in mind, practice loyalty through obeying orders, and create achievements in tackling tough challenges.

Only with great responsibility can one accomplish great causes; only with utmost dedication can one achieve greatness. A Party member should be recognizable in ordinary times, step forward at critical moments, and brace themselves in times of danger—daring to take the lead, spearhead the charge, and set the benchmark when facing urgent, difficult, dangerous, and heavy tasks. On October 30, 1949, Liu Yalou issued a military order to the heads of several aviation schools: all schools must open on December 1; opening on schedule makes a hero, delaying makes a coward. When Fang Ziying, head of the Fifth Aviation School, went to Jinan to establish the school, he brought only the table of organization and a letter from Zhou Enlai to Xu Shiyou, Commander of the Shandong Military District. Precisely under such conditions—lacking runways, personnel, and barracks—after a month of hard struggle, all six aviation schools opened on time. The spirit of the revolutionary predecessors—uncompromising, swift, and daring to act and act well—is forever worth learning and carrying forward by Party members in the new era.

Being a soldier means being ready for the battlefield. For military Party members, the greatest real deed is the ability to fight and win. If one cannot win on the battlefield, everything else counts for zero. The military exists for war and survives for war; overcoming strong enemies is the eternal pursuit of value. The reason our military has always been a heroic force worthy of the trust of the Party and the people lies in that we could not only seize the red country but also defend it. The most important way for military Party members to pay tribute to the Party's birthday is to firmly establish the mindset of a combat force, uphold combat effectiveness as the criterion, and fulfill the role of a combatant—truly thinking about war, truly deliberating on war's problems, truly grasping war preparations—so as to maximize one's contribution to combat effectiveness, and ensure that when the Party and the people need us, we can be deployed, can reach the battlefield, and can win, continui
