The 2026 Open Atomic Open Source Ecology Conference opened in Beijing on the 25th. Xiong Jijun, Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology, attended the conference and delivered a speech. He pointed out in his speech that he supports the development of top global open source projects and developers in China.
Xiong Jijun pointed out that open source, as an important collaborative method across countries and fields in the digital age, plays an increasingly prominent role in leading technological innovation and promoting industrial collaborative evolution. At present, China has built a collaborative innovation platform that connects domestic and foreign markets and connects industry, academia, and research. The number and growth rate of open source participants are among the top in the world. The AtomGit artificial intelligence open source community has been established, and a number of high-quality open source projects are active on the international stage. The open source ecosystem is moving from scale expansion to a new stage of high-quality development.
Xiong Jijun stated that in the next step, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will accelerate the construction of the open source system to a new level. Enhance the supply capacity of open source, increase the traction of open source development in basic software, industrial software, artificial intelligence and other fields, and consolidate the foundation of digital industry development. Prosper the open source industry ecosystem, adhere to application driven development, support the landing and application of excellent open source products, accelerate the exploration of open source business model innovation, and achieve a closed-loop transformation from community code to commercial products. Strengthen the defense line of open source governance, promote the improvement of open source security governance rules, enhance the governance literacy of enterprises and developers, and build a collaborative governance defense line of "community response, platform warning, and enterprise responsibility". Deepen global open source cooperation, adhere to the principle of consultation, co construction and sharing, encourage domestic enterprises to deeply participate in international open source governance, support top open source projects and developers from around the world to develop in China, and jointly create a mutually beneficial and win-win global open source ecosystem.
The theme of this conference is "Empowering Industries with Open Source, Building the Future with Ecological Cooperation", hosted by the Open Atom Open Source Foundation. At the meeting, ceremonies were held for the signing of open source project donations, Mulan license family donations, and the launch of the Open Atomic Instrument Hong open source community. Comrades from relevant departments such as the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, and Beijing Municipality, as well as representatives from relevant enterprises, industry associations, universities, research institutes, and industrial parks, attended the conference.
