Innovation dividend, promoting further upgrading of opportunities in China

2026-06-26

Inspire innovation through communication and mutual learning, grow together through mutual achievements, expand the global market cake through innovation, and make the "innovation dividend" benefit the world

On June 25th, the 17th Annual Meeting of the New Champions (Summer Davos Forum) of the World Economic Forum, which lasted for 3 days, concluded in Dalian, China. The attending guests had in-depth exchanges on topics such as technology transfer, industrial upgrading and iteration, and global innovation collaboration. Against the backdrop of weak global economic recovery and increasing uncertainty, they conveyed a positive signal of exploring new solutions and working together for progress. Both inside and outside the venue, a consensus has become increasingly clear: China's innovation is driving the upgrading of opportunities in China. While providing greater "market dividends", China is also bringing more and more "innovation dividends" to the world.

Looking back at previous Summer Davos forums, 'innovation' has always been a key keyword. The theme of this forum is "Large scale Innovation", aiming to emphasize the promotion of the large-scale application of new technologies, the formation of tangible productivity, and the better benefits of technology for economic development and people's well-being. During the annual conference, themed meetings related to cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics were overwhelming, and the emergence of new technologies, products, and business models in China became the focus of discussion. From artificial intelligence models to new energy technologies, from electric vehicles to equipment manufacturing, from humanoid robots to low altitude economies, China is accelerating the transformation and application of technological achievements, and has accumulated a wealth of experience that can be referenced and promoted in turning innovative "bonsai" into industrial "scenery". Stefan Morgentler, Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer of the World Economic Forum, stated that artificial intelligence technology is entering the stage of industrialization and landing. Many developing countries can refer to China's experience, identify areas where they have comparative advantages, and truly integrate into the global artificial intelligence value chain.

Currently, the international situation is turbulent and intertwined, and global economic growth is slowing down. Innovation is an important path to cope with downward pressure and enhance growth momentum. In the face of new situations and challenges such as reshaping the international trade pattern, accelerating energy transformation, and surging investment in artificial intelligence, only by strengthening cooperation can we achieve more innovative results. It is precisely because of China's open attitude and commitment to global cooperation that more and more foreign companies are coming to China to establish research and development centers, regional headquarters, deeply integrate into China's innovation chain and industrial chain, and shift from "producing in China" to "creating in China". By 2025, there will be 14000 foreign-funded enterprises newly established in China's scientific and technological research and technical services field, a year-on-year increase of 27.2%. For enterprises from various countries, 'China Opportunity 2.0' means comprehensive innovation empowerment and high-yield investment opportunities. For global development, 'China Opportunity 2.0' means more accessible advanced technologies and more inclusive sharing of achievements.

This forum also features multiple activities to interpret the outline of China's 15th Five Year Plan, allowing attendees to have a clearer understanding of the vast opportunities brought by China's innovation. Since the beginning of this year, the Chinese economy has continuously shown new faces and vitality, and the demand potential of the super large market continues to be released, especially in the areas of service consumption, green consumption, and new consumption. The multidimensional picture of China's economy's resilience and vigorous development has injected valuable certainty into the world with increasing uncertainty. The attending guests generally believe that China's "15th Five Year Plan" outline has made clear arrangements for developing new quality productive forces and cultivating and strengthening emerging industries, bringing "historic opportunities" for global development.

The innovation that truly changes and benefits the world should always be the innovation that goes global and embraces the world. China's innovative achievements have gone abroad and landed on a large scale, making new technologies and products more accessible and affordable for more countries, especially developing countries, injecting momentum into the modernization of countries around the world. China is willing to work with all parties to promote the dismantling of walls and the construction of bridges, stimulate innovation through exchanges and mutual learning, grow together through mutual achievements, expand the global market cake through innovation, and let the "innovation dividend" benefit the world, injecting a continuous stream of Chinese strength into the world economic recovery.
