Dai Deming, Managing Director of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission for Greater China and Commercial Minister of the Australian Embassy in China, recently stated in a written interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters that, in the increasingly complex global situation, building more resilient and more efficient supply chains is crucial for economic growth. The China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (Chain Expo) plays an important role in strengthening global supply chain cooperation.

Dai Deming stated that the Chain Expo platform brings together governments, businesses, and industry leaders to exchange ideas, share solutions, and establish practical partnerships, which can help enhance the stability of supply chains.

In his view, the Chain Expo focuses on practical cooperation, enabling businesses across the entire value chain to be closely interconnected and fostering collaboration among parties in areas such as clean energy, infrastructure, and high-end services. “Such interactions are crucial for enhancing the transparency, diversity, and resilience of global supply networks.”

The 4th Chain Expo opened in Beijing on the 22nd. Australia served as the host country for this event, marking its first official participation in the Chain Expo as a state-level official entity.

Dai Deming stated that at the Chain Expo’s Australian National Pavilion, Australian businesses and organizations will showcase their capabilities in providing sustainable solutions and supporting resilient global supply chains.

“We are very interested in the emphasis ChainExpo places on innovation, particularly the fact that this year’s event features a dedicated section on artificial intelligence for the first time.” said De Deming. “Technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital platforms can enhance forecasting capabilities, optimize logistics management, and improve traceability throughout the entire supply chain network.”

Dai Deming, who has worked in China for many years, stated that China is Australia’s largest trading partner, and the bilateral economic and trade relations have maintained a highly complementary and mutually beneficial development trend.

“Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the prospects for the continued development of Australia-China economic and trade relations, particularly in areas such as clean energy, sustainable development, and high-end services,” said Dai Deming.
