Fusheng Temple, a national key cultural relic protection unit, is waiting for people from all walks of life to unveil its mysterious veil. On May 16th, the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Xinjiang County, Shanxi Province issued a notice to publicly solicit research and interpretation results on the culture of Fusheng Temple and Sanfodong, aiming to promote the protection of cultural relics, cultural heritage inheritance, and revitalization of Fusheng Temple. Fusheng Temple is located in Guangcun, Zezhang Town, Xinjiang County. It was first built during the Tiantong period of the Northern Qi Dynasty (565-569 AD), and the main existing buildings are remnants of Yuan Dynasty architecture. It is one of the filming locations for the game "Black Myth: Wukong". There are over 30 colored and hanging sculptures from the Yuan and Ming dynasties preserved in the Maitreya Hall and the main hall of the temple, including the Yuan Dynasty hanging sculpture of "China's Most Beautiful Bodhisattva" Guanyin Crossing the Sea. In June 2001, it was announced as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units. The Three Buddha Caves in Fusheng Temple have undergone nearly 70 years of protective closure, and precious cultural relics such as Yuanming colored sculptures and architectural remains inside the cave have not been opened to the public for a long time. Its historical context, artistic connotation, and cultural value urgently need to be systematically excavated and sorted out. In October 2025, after the trial opening of the individual caves of Sanfo Cave, it attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society and received high praise from experts and scholars in related fields. In order to further prepare for the protection and exhibition of the remaining caves, improve the overall cultural interpretation system, consolidate the foundation of cultural relics exhibition, science popularization, and academic research, the Xinjiang County Culture and Tourism Bureau has decided to carry out relevant cultural relics collection and cultural heritage revitalization and utilization publicity and creation activities. The scope of solicitation is based on the overall cultural relics of Fusheng Temple, with a focus on the protection, exhibition, and value interpretation of the Three Buddha Caves. It covers four categories: cultural and historical research: the historical evolution of Fusheng Temple and the Three Buddha Caves, architectural construction, religious culture, historical repairs, local historical records, interpretation of inscriptions and inscriptions, compilation of relevant historical documents, collection of oral historical materials, and compilation of folk legends; Research and Interpretation Category: Research papers, research notes, interpretation texts, explanatory speeches, exhibition outlines, popular science texts, etc. on the cultural value, artistic characteristics, and cultural connotations of Fusheng Temple and Sanfo Cave cultural relics; Creative suggestions: creative ideas, planning schemes, new media communication scripts, graphic and textual creation concepts for the revitalization and utilization of the Three Buddha Cave cultural relics, cultural dissemination, and public education; Historical materials: precious materials such as old photos, archives, rubbings, manuscripts, and visual materials related to Fusheng Temple and Sanfo Cave.
